What is Muay Thai? Muay Thai is a combat sport which originated in Thailand. It is an art form which encompasses the use of the eight limbs in the human body to produce punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. Muay Thai’s origin dates back several hundred years ago. It was a fighting style that was developed to fight attackers and it was initially called Muay Boran. Throughout the years, this form of martial arts has been developed more into a sport, and many brutal attacks were removed. Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport, and its mainstream popularity has soared throughout the last decade, having the western side of the world finally recognizing it. Muay Thai is recognized as the most effective stand-up style of fighting, and is currently being utilized by many UFC fighters.
